Effective configuration method of supporting column

The support post is a post installed to prevent the bottom surface of the movable side template from being deformed instantaneously due to injection pressure.

In order to reduce the deformation of the movable side template, as explained before, it is a basic requirement to ensure the appropriate thickness of the bottom surface of the template. However, the method of auxiliary reinforcement using support columns is also widely used as a good experience.

The support column usually uses cylindrical carbon steel (S50C) non-heat-treated material and SKS3 heat-treated material (about 54HRC).

If the support column is arranged in an appropriate position, it will play an extremely effective role.

As shown in Figure 1, even if the support column is placed far away from the center of the template, it cannot play a sufficient role. Because, generally in the injection molding process, the main gate is set in the center of the template, and then flows to the various runners, therefore, a great deformation will occur in the center of the template.

Therefore, it is more effective to configure around the central part of the template. In addition, it is also very effective to place it directly under the movable mold core, but it is necessary to fully consider the relationship with the putter configuration.

In the part that interferes with the push rod, the cross-sectional shape of the support column may not be completely cylindrical, but may also be designed into a square shape.
